Your Labs Are Normal. So Why Don't You Feel Normal?

The reference range tells you where most people fall. It doesn't tell you where you feel your best. Those are two very different things.

"Your labs look normal."

If you've heard that sentence and still felt awful, you are not alone. You are also not imagining things.

The conventional laboratory reference range tells you where 95% of the population falls. It doesn't tell you where you feel optimal. Those are two very different things. A woman whose thyroid TSH is 4.2 ; technically within the normal range may feel profoundly different from a woman whose TSH is 1.8. A man whose testosterone falls at the very bottom of the "normal" range may have the energy, libido, and cognitive function of someone far outside it.

Normal is not the goal. Optimal is.

This distinction is at the core of how I practice wellness medicine at NORRENNE. I don't run labs to check boxes. I run labs to understand your baseline and then I interpret those results in the context of how you actually feel, how you're sleeping, how your body composition has changed, what your energy looks like throughout the day, and what you know about yourself that no lab value can capture.

I order comprehensive panels because the story is almost never in a single value. It's in the relationship between your hormones, your thyroid, your inflammatory markers, your metabolic function, and your micronutrient status. When you look at all of it together, a picture emerges that a standard annual physical simply doesn't have time to find.

If you have been dismissed, told you're just getting older, or sent home with nothing but reassurance, come in.

Let's look at the whole picture. Let's find the actual answer.

Because feeling like yourself again is not too much to ask.
